Offsh is an independent design studio born in Beirut, Lebanon. It is founded on bringing forth the opportunity for talents to collide, surpassing the mundane and certainly outdated model of a design office. Housing architects, visual artists, and thinkers, Offsh is the platform for an open mind. Feeding our thirst for progress, our work lies at the intersection of critique, development, and exploration.
Layal Merhi | Founder
Layal is an architect & academic based in Beirut. She holds a part-time faculty position at the Lebanese American University where she began her architectural studies. She later received her MArch II from The Bartlett, UCL, & has had her work exhibited. Layal, currently the driving force behind Offsh, is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon.

Ramzi Naja
Ramzi is an architect, researcher, and educator based in Boston, Massachusetts and Beirut, Lebanon. He earned his Masters in Architecture degree from Harvard University’ Graduate School of Design, where he was also a teaching assistant and research assistant. Prior, Rams graduated from the Lebanese American University in 2013 and practiced architecture in Beirut and Boston.

Nadine Gharaz
Nadine is an architect and designer based in Beirut. She earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Lebanese American University. She is critical, reflective, and has a passion for leadership and planning. She is particularly interested in implementing design with academic research, based on cultural and regional analysis keeping in touch with the ever changing realities of the world.

Alaa Chaar
Alaa is an architect and designer based in Beirut. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Lebanese American University. He has been passionate about architecture ever since he was young and believes it is a tool in discovering ways to evolve human and cultural influences. Alaa fluctuates between different modes of aesthetics representation as art has always felt intrinsic to him.

Madeleine Antonios
Maddy is an architect based in Beirut. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Lebanese American University. She has a passion towards sustainable design and project management. Maddy has been involved in a number of community works throughout her life. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Environmental Governance.

Milo Sharafeddine
Milo is an illustrator based in Beirut. They hold a bachelors degree in architecture from the Lebanese American University. They are immensely interested in people’s perception of architecture vis-a-vis the urban context it sits in. At any time of day, Milo is making art about friends, feelings, and everyday things that are falsely believed to be boring.
